Promising Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa set his hopes on the major events of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

While expecting to remain in the fold, Zampa has set his horizon in the Australian Playing XI.

“I think I’m still in the best XI but it’s hard to change the team when the team is winning,” Zampa was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia.

The 26-year-old spinner Zampa is looking forward to deliver in the white-ball cricket. He is expecting to be primarily in the limited-overs fold for Australia.

Owing to the resurgence of the wrist-spinners of late, Zampa is the one who could play the pivotal role for the Kangaroos in next two years.

“Not really. They (selectors) have made it pretty obvious for one-day cricket and the World Cup coming up that they wanted a wrist spinner, so I suppose I was in a good position there,” Zampa said.

Interestingly, with 2019 World Cup set to be held in England, the Twenty20 World Cup is slated for 2020 in Australia.

“But T20-wise I’m not too sure now,” Zampa asserted.

The New South Wales-based spinner Zampa had a mixed outing against England in the Gillette One-day International series. However, he featured in four matches in which he bagged just two scalps.

“I feel like I bowled okay with the one-dayers without too much result, and then T20s,” Zampa remarked.

The aggressive wrist-spinners have been ruling the roost. Zampa is the one who has the potential to bring desired results for Australia.

Moreover, Rashid Khan from Afghanistan is topping the ICC’s T20 bowling rankings. It further saw Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav dominating with the white-ball.

Interestingly, the wrist-spinners succeeded in the KFC Big Bash League which further makes Zampa’s case stronger for his involvement particular in the homebound competition.

Recently while playing his 35th First-class match for Queensland in the JLT Sheffield Shield competition, Zampa completed his 100 wickets.

“It usually spins a bit more here than usual, a bit more spin and bounce but I’m not finding that so much this game,” Zampa further said.

To be precise, Zampa is cherishing to roll over the arm while making full use of Kookaburra while observing it has too much on an offer in the air.

“I do enjoy bowling with it, it’s a bit different to the (Australia-made) Kookaburra. It just reacts differently in the air,” Adam Zampa concluded.

Zampa made his international debut in February 2016 against New Zealand at Wellington. He played 31 ODIs and 13 T20Is to bag 59 wickets in the limited-overs cricket.
