Pakistan great Mohammad Yousuf found himself on a sticky wicket to rate top five batsmen ever. But to his credit, it looked like a walk in the park for Mohammad Yousuf, similar to some of the shots he pulled off on the international circuit. After a twitter user asked him to rate the ‘No.1 batsman’ among — Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis and Kumar Sangakkara — Yousuf latched on to the opportunity to let his opinion known.

Brian Lara holds the highest score of an unbeaten 400 in the longest format of the game. He has also scored 10,405 from 299 ODIs with an average of 40.48. The West Indies legend has played 131 Tests for the West Indies and scored nearly 12,000 runs at an average of 52.89. He has also made 299 ODI appearances and amassed 10,405 runs at 40.17.

Sachin Tendulkar, on the other hand, represented India in 200 Tests with an average of a little over 53. He has 15,921 Test and 18,426 ODI runs to his name, making him one of the most prolific batsmen to have graced the game.

Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis and Kumar Sangakkara also contributed to the fore for their national teams and are among the greatest batsmen to have played the game.

Mohammad Yousuf Rates Sachin Tendulkar as the ‘No.1 batsman’

Mohammad Yousuf picked up Sachin Tendulkar as the ‘no.1 batsman’, followed by Brian Lara on the second spot. His top two choices matches with the statistics as Sachin Tendulkar has amassed more records than any of the other batsmen in the list. He also had a longer and much successful career among all the players.

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting made it to the third spot, followed by the greatest all-rounder ever Jacques Kallis while Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara took the fifth place in the list for Mohammad Yousuf.

Yousuf also heaped praise on prolific Pakistan batsman Babar Azam and said, he is class apart from the rest in the national team, at the moment.
