Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been summoned by Alipore court in Kolkata. Shami is once again in the troubled waters after his wife Hasin Jahan has filed a case against him.
Shami’s wife claimed she had received an INR one lakh rupees cheque from the fast bowler. However, the cheque bounced in the bank. Therefore, Hasin Jahan didn’t have money to pay for her monthly expenses.
Hasin had filled a case in the Kolkata court in which she had sought monthly maintenance of INR 10 lakh.
Furthermore, Jahan had come up with a plethora of charges against Shami. She had raised a case of domestic violence on the Indian pacer in particular.
So much so, Hasin had also levied corruption charges on her husband.
Therefore, Shami contract was held by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. It was only when the Indian board’s Anti Corruption Unit (ACU) investigation found Shami clear of all the allegations. Eventually, the pacer made his place back in the contracted list of players.
Meanwhile, Shami was dropped from One-off Afghanistan Test after he failed to clear the Yo-Yo test. However, he worked hard on his fitness to clear the fitness test.
Thus, the fast bowler was able to break into the 18-man squad for the first three Test matches against England.
Consequently, Mohammed Shami has gone through a lot of mental stress in the last six months. Therefore, the repercussions are also palpable in his bleak performance.
Nevertheless, the West Bengal right-arm fast bowler will like to hit the ground in England. The first Test match will be played from August 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
The 28-year-old bowler Shami has played 30 Tests in which he has bagged 110 wickets at an average of 28.91.
