MS Dhoni Has A Lot Of Cricket Left In Him: Suresh Raina

MS Dhoni, former Indian captain and wicketkeeper-batsman has been on sabbatical from the game since July 2019. Dhoni’s last competitive game was the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand at Old Trafford where he was, unfortunately, run out Martin Guptill.
Post that game, Dhoni made himself unavailable for national selection, and with every series that the former captain missed during the last season, speculations intensified around his retirement from international cricket.
Dhoni would have made his comeback to competitive cricket with the 13th edition of the IPL. The IPL was looked upon as a comeback vehicle of MS Dhoni with head coach Ravi Shastri and newly elected chairman of selectors Sunil Joshi, asserting in the past that Dhoni’s performance in the Indian Premier League could go a long way in him making his return to the national side.
But the onset of the coronavirus and the subsequent postponement of the 13th edition of the cash-rich league has offset all those plans. And, with the T20 World Cup also under jeopardy, no-one really knows what future holds for Dhoni, except the great man himself.

‘He was batting so well, he is fit’- Suresh Raina on MS Dhoni
Suresh Raina, Dhoni’s teammate at the Chennai Super Kings, was asked the same question by Rohit Sharma during the duo’s freewheeling chat on Instagram.
Raina once again reiterated that Dhoni was looking in really good shape during the pre-season camp conducted by the Super Kings at the Chepauk, adding that the former captain still has a lot to offer.
“I saw him and he was batting so well, he is fit. Only he knows what he is planning but as far as his skills go he was good. Now that the lockdown is here, I don’t really know what his plans are. He has a lot of cricket in him and he was batting so well there,” Raina said.
Rohit replied that if Dhoni is batting really well, he should start playing again.
“If that is the case, he should play. I hope he starts playing again,” Rohit said.
Raina urged people to ask Dhoni about his plans whenever he becomes available.
“Yes but only he knows, whenever he becomes available people should ask him what his plans are,” Raina added.
The IPL would have given the fans some answers to their query but with the tournament not going ahead, they would have to wait for a few more months before Dhoni finally reveals his future plans.4
