MS Dhoni Is Always A Process-Backing Leader: CSK Bowling Coach Lakshmipathy Balaji

As much as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have had an outfit good enough all these years, MS Dhoni deserves as much credit. Chennai Super Kings transformed as a brand under the leadership of MS Dhoni, who has guided the side to three titles so far and enter favourites every year. Their bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji has explained how his captaincy works.
At 39, MS Dhoni looks all set to chase the 4th IPL title for the CSK, who lost to Mumbai Indians by one run in 2019. Not only is the keeper-batsman a marquee player, but he has also got men in his repertoire who are hugely experienced in the format.
The likes of Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, and Faf Du Plessis are enough to beat any outfit.
Lakshmipathy Balaji mentioned MS Dhoni always to be a process-backing leader. The 38-year old conceded that the keeper-batsman believes in handing opportunities and exposure instead of changing and chopping.
“Dhoni is someone who believes in following the process, in giving opportunity and exposure instead of changing and chopping. Dhoni is always a process backing leader. There is no short cut in his leadership, but he is someone who believes in opportunity and exposure rather than cutting and chopping,” Balaji told PTI.
Lakshmipathy Balaji backs seniors, including MS Dhoni, to find their rhythm:
The former Indian seamer stays confident that senior cricketers will not find much difficulty in hitting their straps since the sport remains in their blood now. He underlined the importance of experience in a high-octane tournament like IPL, which is crucial to any side’s chances.
“I don’t think it’s going to be that difficult, because all your life you have played this sport. So many years of understanding will come in handy to get back to your best. Experience will definitely be important. It has been proven in big tournaments like IPL,” he added.
