It is hard to read MS Dhoni. His calm and composed nature will not allow you to understand his next move even a bit. MS Dhoni does not likes to give away what he is thinking about. But, in a first, MS Dhoni started to train for the IPL 2020 well in advance, giving a clear depiction that he wants to make the most of the tournament this year, to make a comeback to the national team.

MS Dhoni initially took a two-month sabbatical to serve the Indian Army but he did not made himself available even after that. In a recent chat with the CSK website, veteran leg spinner Piyush Chawla spoke about MS Dhoni’s pre-season practice session.

Seasoned spinner Karn Sharma also gave a clear depiction about MS Dhoni’s intent. He said, the captain, was batting two-three hours regularly at nets which was motivating to watch. Moreover, Dhoni was involved and speaking to bowlers frequently. He also looked in rhythm.

“Mahi bhai was batting for two to three hours at nets every day, and the way he was hitting the ball no one could say he was returning from a long break. The way he was training was a huge motivation for the rest of us,” Karn Sharma said.

“During match simulations, he was very involved, speaking to the bowlers, and the rhythm he was in, it was a big boost for our team,” Sharma further added.

Dhoni helped the Chennai franchise clinch the IPL title in 2010, 2011 and 2018. The veteran has played 190 matches in the tournament, and scored 4432 runs at an average of 42.20, with 23 half-centuries to his name.
