I can learn from Ashwin – Lyon

Nathan Lyon and Ravichandran Ashwin are two of the greatest finger spinners of the current generation. They have led their teams on numerous occasions. The duo has time and again complimented each other for their success. Lyon will play a pivotal role in the Ashes 2019 as Australians are desperate to change the history and stop England from making a double after winning the World Cup this summer.

On the eve of the first Test, Nathan Lyon has praised Ravichandran Ashwin and explained how he wants to learn from the Indian cricketer. Lyon said that he has watched many videos of Ashwin bowling in English conditions and have tried to pick his brain. Ashwin has been a successful bowler in England and playing in the County Cricket has helped him develop his skills better.

“I have watched a lot of footage of Ravi Ashwin actually, bowling over here last year and in the tours that he has been here, how effective he has been. In my eyes he is one of the offies going around. I can definitely learn from watching how he goes about it here in England,” Lyon told Mumbai Mirror in an interview.

Nathan Lyon has 343 Test wickets to his name from 86 matches. The off-spinner is currently the fourth highest Australian wicket-taker in Tests and will hope to overtake Denis Lillee and occupy the third place at the end of this series.
