Just when things went pretty well for Mitchell Santner, he was struck with an injury which kept him away from the action for a hard nine-month time. During the course, he missed the opportunity to taste the Indian Premier League as well. However, the all-rounder is all set to return now and predicted the upcoming matches against India would be high-scoring games.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner has been a prolific performer for the Kiwis in the limited-overs format. He has got the peculiar technique and action, which helps him to get the better of any batsman on his day.

Series will be a good test ahead of the 2019 World Cup: Santner

Further, he feels the games would be high-scoring events with the flat tracks on offer. However, Santner believes the series would be a great platform for both the teams ahead of the 2019 World Cup.

”Both teams have changed a lot since then (the 2014 tour). India has performed in England and against (Australia) in conditions similar to New Zealand. It’s (depends on) how quickly they (India) can adapt to those conditions. If they can hit the ground running on those home conditions for us, it’s going to make for a very interesting series. It can be a high-scoring series with the nature of grounds and wickets (on offer),” Santner said.

”Virat Kohli and other Indian batsmen are scoring a lot of runs at the moment. So they will probably like our conditions, where it’s quite flat, with not a lot of turn. And obviously, if there’s not a lot of swings. The series will be a good test for both the sides leading into the World Cup and I guess in similar conditions,” he inferred.

As Santner said, the clash between the Kiwis and India would be very entertaining, as both the teams got required ingredients in them. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see whether Santner will be back in action at that time.
