New Zealand vs India 2020, 2nd Test, Day 2 – Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah Bring India Back In The Game, Indian Batsmen Fail Again; Finally, the Indian National Cricket Team had a couple of dominating sessions in the ongoing Test match. The brilliance of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and the fielding efforts helped India take the honours in an initial couple of sessions before New Zealand pulling things back in the final session.

After starting the day on 63/0, it took only a few balls for India to get a breakthrough as Umesh Yadav bowled inswinger, to get Tom Blundell before Bumrah found the edge of Kane Williamson.

It was followed by the wicket of Ross Taylor when Ravindra Jadeja tricked him with less speed on the ball. The troubles further stretched for New Zealand when Shami bowled a ripper of a delivery to dismiss Tom Latham.

After three more runs were added to Kiwis tally, Shami sent Henry Nicholls back to the pavilion while Bumrah sent BJ Watling for a 16-ball duck. Just when things looked all set for India to take a big lead in the game, Colin de Grandhomme, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner helped New Zealand finish with 235 runs on the board.

For India, Shami finished with four wickets to his name while Bumrah picked three wickets. Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with a couple of wickets while Umesh bagged one wicket.

Indian batsmen falter yet again:

In reply, India once again had a false start, as Mayank Agarwal was trapped in front by Trent Boult. He was quickly followed by Prithvi Shaw to increase problems for India while the skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team Virat Kohli continued his poor form.

Though Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane looked like holding the fort with all the blows to their bodies, Neil Wagner produced the wicket for New Zealand by removing uncomfortable Ajinkya Rahane and then came the top stuff from Trent Boult.

Boult’s magic helped New Zealand sit comfortably in the driver seat at end of the Day 2 stumps. At the end of Day 2 stumps, India took the lead of 97 runs by losing six wickets. Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant are at the crease with 5* and 1* respectively.
