KL Rahul carried his incredible form once again in the second game of the ongoing five-match series in Auckland on Sunday. The flamboyant batsman showed his class in the middle to help India seal a comfortable victory after losing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli early in the 133-run chase.
India were in a spot of bother when Kohli and Rohit went back to pavilion for cheap scores. However, Rahul in support of Shreyas Iyer helped India to get over the line. He finished unbeaten on 57* that was laced with three fours and two sixes.
For his exceptional performance, KL Rahul was adjudged as the Man of the Match.

Speaking of his glorious form, Rahul stated that he is pretty happy with the way things are going for him at the moment.
The Karnataka-based batsman added that he knew the burden was on his shoulders when the skipper Kohli and Rohit walked back to the pavilion.
Besides, Rahul also felt that he picked his shots right, which helped him to adjust to the conditions in the tricky run chase.
”Obviously different circumstances, the target was different and the pitch was different from what we played on a couple of days before. I knew what I had to do, I couldn’t play the same way. I had a different responsibility. We lost Rohit and Kohli early, so I had to stay in there,” Rahul said in the post-match presentation.

Further, Rahul felt that he is reading and understanding his game pretty well in the recent past to get things to fall in place.
Rahul also believes that he already gave the answers to his critics with his batting.
”I don’t really know what to say about that (the consistent run of scores). The understanding of my game and reading my game has helped me to be more consistent. I always need to keep the team ahead and what the team requires. I have come up with the right shots and the right answers. That’s been my mantra over the last few games and in the T20 format,” he added.
All in all, Karnataka batsman is having a merry run with the bat. Now, he will look forward to repeating the similar stuff in the remainder of the fixtures. He will next be in the action when India lock horns with New Zealand in Hamilton on Wednesday (January 26).
