Nidahas Trophy 2018: Rishabh Pant Injures A Net Bowler During Practice Session

India wicket-keeper batsman, Rishabh Pant, injured a net bowler during the net session of Indian cricket team, as per a report in The Indian Express.
In the first training session held, Rishabh hit a bowler hard on his lip, and the bowler was then carried to the hospital.
The net session of Indian cricket team was also halted due to the bleeding from bowler’s lips.

Indian players held a practice session after Sri Lankan players.
This is not the first time when a net bowler has been injured.
During T20 World Cup, one of the net bowlers from Himachal Pradesh was injured by Ireland batsman after being hit by a ball above his eye.
This incident has raised concerns regarding the safety of net bowlers.
Talking of Indian team, the Rohit Sharma led side reached Sri Lanka a couple of days back.
Yesterday, the team held practice session and captains also addressed a press conference on the eve of the start of the tournament.

India have travelled to Sri Lanka with a second string side.
Rohit Sharma is leading the side in the absence of Virat Kohli.
Other than Kohli, MS Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya were also rested.
Rishabh, Washington Sundar, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar and Mohammad Siraj were the one to be called in the team.
Rishabh, Sundar, Shankar and Siraj are expected to play in all the games during the series.
Barring Shankar, all the players have represented India in T20 formats in last year. Sundar has also played one ODI.
Deepak Hooda might get a chance if Sundar is ruled out of any game.
The first match of the tri-series will be played today (March 6) with India taking on Sri Lanka in the first game.
In the next game, India will face Bangladesh on March 8.
The final of the tournament will be played on March 18.
Al the matches will be played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
