Pace Bowling Sensation Jofra Archer Ruled Out of PSL 2018

The young pace bowler from Sussex, Jofra Archer was ruled out of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018. Meanwhile, Archer represented Quetta Gladiators in the PSL, who had a mixed start to this season.

It will be a big blow for the Gladiators as they banked on Archer’s form. Meanwhile, Archer had a terrific start to his debut PSL returning with 2 for 30 and 3 for 3 for 23 in his first two games.

Archer ruled out:

After an outstanding start to his debut PSL, Archer didn’t feature in the next two fixtures citing side strain. Now, he will not feature in the remaining matches.

Meanwhile, earlier PSL franchise owners allegedly said that Archer is underperforming to keep himself fit for the Indian Premier League (IPL). They also slammed Dwayne Bravo, who is yet to join his side. Currently, Bravo is working on his fitness and is likely to travel to Dubai shortly.

After a sensational season in the Big Bash League, Archer grabbed everybody’s eyeballs. Further, he also bagged a .deal in the IPL. Comeback team Rajasthan Royals roped in Archer for a hefty sum of Rs 7.20 crore. However, there is no news about his return.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Ben Laughlin will replace Archer in the Gladiators squad. Archer is currently training with the side, having reached there on March 1.

The 35-year-old Laughlin played a crucial role in Adelaide Strikers maiden BBL win this year. Further, he also represented Australia in 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

Gladiators will play their next match later today against the Multan Sultans.
