Branded as a limited-overs bowler, Jasprit Bumrah has proved everyone wrong with his returns in Test Cricket. Only 12 Tests old, Bumrah has already claimed 62 wickets including a hat-trick. Recently, he sat down to reveal his success mantra.

The young India fast bowler ever since making his debut in Test in 2018 against South Africa, has been in the forefront of the bowling pack. He has claimed five-wicket hauls wherever he has played – South Africa, England and Australia, and West Indies.

Jasprit Bumrah will gear up to play his first Test at home when India begin their campaign against South Africa from October 2. He is looking forward to playing his first game in home conditions and hopes to help Indian cricket more.

The fast bowler; however, is not looking for any shortcuts. Bumrah revealed that a lot of hardwork goes in and he tries to assess conditions and thereafter make his plan for a match. He also speaks to his teammates to strategise against an opponent team.

“For me a lot of preparation goes in. Before any match or tournament, I assess the conditions. I try to ask questions (of bowling team mates) that I am planning to do this, what do you think about it. All these things I listen to and filter them and figure out what I can do and cannot. I try to asses all this and make my plans,” Jasprit Bumrah said.

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah added all the venom in his bowling comes from the immense self-belief he has in himself. He also said that he doesn’t follow what others have to say, good or bad about him and instead only focus on his game.

“For me even if things don’t go well, the only opinion that matters in my opinion is my opinion. That’s my philosophy. It doesn’t matter what others think of you. If they give you love, its good. If they don’t, it’s good. Ultimately you should have that belief,” Bumrah concluded.
