India ace Ravichandran Ashwin has given a fitting reply to a Pakistani journalist after he tried to taunt the spinner over the Mankad incident. Ravichandran Ashwin had caused a stir during last year’s IPL when he dismissed Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler by the unpopular mode of dismissal.
Playing for Kings XI Punjab, Ravichandran Ashwin decided to ‘Mankad’ Buttler after the latter left his crease before the spinner could release the ball. What made things worse for the former Kings XI Punjab skipper was that he dismissed Buttler without giving him a prior warning.
While Ravichandran Ashwin was well within his rights to dislodge the bails, the method was deemed against the “spirit of the game”. He was later slammed by a number of cricketers and fans although the spinner has always rightly maintained that he didn’t do anything wrong. And the star spinner has once again made it clear that he was not at all in dismissing Buttler.

It all started when the man from Pakistan took to Twitter to post a picture of legendary Glenn McGrath answering a question on Mankad. In the question, the former Australia pacer was asked whether he would Mankad a batsman in a World Cup final with the game on line. In reply, McGrath answered No.

Well, Ravichandran Ashwin was quick to react to the tweet and once again hit the ball out of park with his reply. The star spinner made it clear that Mankad is not at all wrong in the game, writing:
“Dear sir, Glen McGrath is one of the greatest bowlers to have played the game and I greatly respect his answer for the question but to tell me that it’s the only right answer is wrong on your part.”
