The wicket-keeper conundrum in Team India is far from resolved. Rishabh Pant was preferred over veteran wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha in the New Zealand Tests. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been brilliant in the limited-overs for the national team and overshadowed Rishabh Pant. However, he continues to get backed up by senior players to come up good in the near future.
The juggling between the wicket-keepers across formats in recent times might have given the national team a temporary solution but still none have secured their place as the first-choice. KL Rahul has certainly showed spark in the recent times but cricket experts have suggested that he can be relied as short-term solution for the 2020 T20 World Cup.

Parthiv Patel: I genuinely feel we can get a bit more consistency so that you have the assurance
Parthiv Patel has not served the national team on a regular basis but he has suggested a way to resolve the wicket-keeper conundrum. Patel believes wicket-keepers are not getting fixed slot in the team. He also advised that they should be given a consistent run to prove themselves for the national team.

“I don’t think we are not getting any fixed wicketkeeper. We have KS Bharat for India A… Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul… Saha is your number 1 Test wicket-keeper. But I genuinely feel we can get a bit more consistency so that you have the assurance,” Patel said during an Instagram chat. “Everyone has it in them … It’s about getting a bit more consistent run.”
After a halt due to novel coronavirus pandemic situation, it still remains to be seen against whom India resume their action. From the past form, it is likely that, KL Rahul will get a place over Rishabh Pant in the upcoming series for Team India.
