I Don't Think We've Played Anywhere Near Our Best Cricket Yet: Pat Cummins On Kolkata Knight Riders' Performances

Kolkata Knight Riders’ new-ball bowler Pat Cummins, who was bought for INR 15.5 cores, has performed well in patches; however, has not shone enough to justify the price tag. Kolkata Knight Riders also find themselves in the middle of the table and need to remain consistent as the second half of the tournament is on a roll. Pat Cummins feels the need for the franchise to assimilate a complete game plan.
With four victories in seven matches, Kolkata Knight Riders so far remain in contention for the playoffs spot. The two-time champions’ strongest suit has been their bowling attack that has been significantly responsible for their last two come-from-behind wins against Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab. Dinesh Karthik, who throws the new ball to Cummins, has done the job of keeping things tight if not chipping in with scalps.
“I think four wins, three losses, you know, is a pretty good result. We’re in the top-four. And I don’t think we’ve played anywhere near our best cricket yet, we haven’t played that complete game that blows a team out of the water,” Cummins stated ahead of Kolkata’s encounter against Mumbai Indians.
“We feel like we can win from any position” : Pat Cummins

The Australian speedster recalled winning the last two games that they had no right to win, which is a sign of a good side. Hence, the ability to emerge victorious from any position serves them well. At the same, Pat Cummins highlighted the requirement to work on some areas, so they peak at the right time.
“We had no right to win those two games, but we still won… That’s a sign of a really good side. We feel like we can win from any position. So, hopefully we can just work on a couple of areas, don’t want to peak too early, by the final we’ll be right to go,” he added.
