During the PCB Awards 2018, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on its official award function in Karachi, awarded Kamran Akmal as the best domestic wicketkeeper-batsman for his brilliant efforts in the last season.

Meanwhile, it has been long since Kamran represented the national side. He last served Pakistan in the One-day International against Windies on April 11 in 2017.

However, he was a crucial component in that Pakistan side before that. Since the emergence of current Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, Kamran went off the radar following his mediocre run.

Kamran has represented Pakistan in all the formats making his debut in 2002. He has played 53 Tests, 157 ODIs, and 58 T20I matches scoring 2648, 3236, and 987 runs respectively.

However, he faltered a bit with his behind the stumps.

Despite being out of the national team, Kamran was a regular feature in the domestic and Pakistan Super League (PSL). He represented Peshawar Zalmi in the last edition of the franchise-based league in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
