There is no doubt about the fact that the Indian Premier League is the most popular T20 tournament held across the globe and players from all the countries sets their ambition of playing for a franchise. Every player wants to feature in the tournament and make a name for themselves. Veteran Aussie fast bowler Peter Siddle is in the hope of bagging his maiden IPL contract especially after having a terrific season in the Big Bash League.

The IPL auctions for the 11th season are slated on January 27 and 28 where many cricketers all across the globe have been nominated to take part in the competition. Siddle has been part of the Australian playing XI on in 62 Tests and 17 ODI’s where he has bagged 211 and 15 wickets respectively. Siddle hasn’t been part of the Australian limited overs scheme of things and last appeared for the team in colored clothing way back in 2010 against Sri Lanka.

The fast bowler revealed that he has nominated his name several times for the IPL but has failed to get a franchise. However, he said that he wants to be part of any cricketing league and that can be IPL or in England or any part of the world.

“Yeah, I’ve put it in there. I’m a lot older now so I might as well put it in there to see how I go. I’ve always put it in there to see how I’ve gone but you never know. I just want to play cricket, whether it’s in the IPL or it’s in England playing county cricket, I’ll do whatever,” Siddle was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

He stated that despite not playing much cricket in the past few years the fast bowlers manage to possess a lot of variations in their armory. He was impressive during the BBL which is the reason why he finished as the most economical bowler in the tournament.

“It’s definitely helped.I haven’t played a lot in the last few years, especially the Big Bash so it’s been good to learn.  So I’ve been working and trying out a few new tricks and deliveries and that’s helped,” added the Aussie fast bowler on how has the experience been being part of BBL 07.
