Pragyan Ojha talks chucking and having no regrets post-retirement:

The left-arm leggie opened up candidly about chucking while talking how it would impact a youngster.

He said, “I will tell you very clearly. When I started playing, I developed a few things which were not good for my career. Chucking is something that should be treated like an injury but not as an insult. Because when I heard about it, I was shaken.”

Ojha continued, “But imagine that something like that happened to a 14-15-year-old player. So it should be treated very carefully and handled very sensitively.”

He further added, “With me, the problem was that I was going diagonal and I started running straight. I was back in just 22 days and started playing for Hyderabad again. I played for India ‘A’ as well. So that’s how it went.”

When quizzed he had any regrets about his playing career, Ojha calmly replied that he’s happy with whatever he had achieved.

“There are a few things that are not in your control. Thinking about them will only pull you back. So I am happy that I took over 100 Test wickets. There are many players who deserve to get 100 wickets but have not managed to get them. So I look at the positives rather than dwell on the negatives.”
