Prime Ministers Narendra Modi And Sheikh Hasina Likely To Attend India-Bangladesh Test In Kolkata

Bangladesh will tour India in November to play three Twenty20 Internationals followed by two Test matches as a part of the ICC World Test Championship. As per reports, Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina are likely to attend the second Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), the organisers of the Test match has already invitations to both the Prime Ministers office. Notably, this will be the first instance when India will play a Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata. CAB is keen to make it a historic occasion.

Similarly, the Bengal cricket body made grand celebrations when they hosted the India-Pakistan game in the 2016 World T20. Senior Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was present to sing the national anthem while the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan was also in attendance. CAB is keen to make things even bigger this time around.

Meanwhile, India will be keen to secure all the points available to strengthen their position at the top of the ICC World Test Championship. Currently, they have 200 points from four games beating West Indies and South Africa twice each. Virat Kohli & Co will be keen to inflict a whitewash over South Africa beating them in the final Test in Ranchi.

The series will commence from November 3 with the T20Is followed by two Tests starting from November 14. The Kolkata Test will commence November 22 and run until 26.
