Australia A completes a convincing five-wicket win against India B on Monday (August 27th). The matured century from Usman Khawaja and the handy support by Wildermuth outclassed Manish Pandey’s 117 in the end. The victory ensured Australia to attain the second place on the points table with two wins in five games.

Initially, it was Australia A who won the toss and asked Indians to bat first.

Coming to bat, the Indian openers added 58 runs for the first wicket. However, Michael Nesar drew first bloody by removing Mayank Agarwal. Neser carried his fine form to rattle the defence of Shubman Gill while Wildermuth dismissed Ishan Kishan. Soon, Kedar Jadhav nicked Swepson to Alex Carey thus leaving Indians reeling on 123/4.

However, it was Manish Pandey who came to the aid of the India B team. He smashed a scintillating century alongside Deepak Hooda’s 30 to push the hosts to 276 runs on the board.

The skipper of Indian team finished with an unbeaten 117 runs while Nesar has been the pick of the bowlers for Australia A. He finished with three wickets to his name while Swepson, Jhye Richardson and Wildermuth picked apiece.

Usman Khawaja and Wildermuth’s heroics does it for Australia A –

In reply to the chase, Australia A got the solid start of 77 runs for the first wicket with Usman Khawaja being the chief run-scorer. However, Jalaj Saxena’s double-wicket spell pulled things back in India B favour.

Kulwant Khejroliya removed Peter Handscomb while Shreyas Gopal and Deepak Hooda grabbed apiece in the middle-overs. However, the stylish southpaw Usman Khawaja never let the chase down.

Jack Wildermuth gave ample support to Usman Khawaja to keep Indians on their toes throughout the chase. Until the final delivery, the victory was in reach for India B. But, the stupendous display of batting by Wildermuth sealed it for Australia A.
