The Quadrangular series comprising of India A, India B, South Africa A and Australia A respectively has been moved out of Vijayawada due to incessant rains.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) official confirmed the change of the venue after four games of the tournament was abandoned without a single ball being bowled.

As per reports in the ESPN Cricinfo, Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will now host the rescheduled tournament. The league fixtures are slated to be played on August 23, 25 and 27. The final of the tournament will be held on 29th August.

Matches which will be held in all likelihood at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The other games will be held at the Alur facility of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) which is situated in the outskirts of the city.

Alur was the venue for the recently concluded four-day Test match between India A and South Africa A earlier in the month.

The ACA ground in Mulapudu which was slated to host the pictures doesn’t have a proper drainage facility. Vijayawada has been receiving incessant rains over the last week or so.

It eventually forced the first set of the matches in the tournament to be abandoned on Friday. Though there was no rain the last 24 hours, the matches had to be called off.

The ACA was pretty confident of making the surface and outfield ready by Sunday.

However, rain put water to their preparations after there was a thunderstorm on Saturday evening. The water seepage caused damage to the pitch and the outfield respectively. There was continuous drizzle on Sunday. Both teams made it to the ground.

However, they had to return to the hotel not long after the one hour trip.

The indoor facility in Mangalagiri is an hour’s drive from Vijayawada which has added to the frustration of the players after incessant rains.

Well, they got very little or no opportunities of match practice in five days. They have been in the city for a long time. However, they have been forced to train indoors.
