Indian Test cricket team’s vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane, who is currently gearing up for the Afghanistan Test series graced this beautiful earth on this very day, thirty years back.

Meanwhile, Rahane will lead the Indian team in the absence of Virat Kohli against Afghanistan. The Afghans will play their debut Test against India starting from June 14 in Bengaluru.

Rahane, however, led his side Rajasthan Royals to the playoffs in the recently concluded Indian Premier League. Individually, he had an average stint scoring 370 runs from 15 games at the top of the order.

However, he missed out the limited-overs squad for the upcoming Ireland and England series. Rahane didn’t seem too perturbed with it, as he admitted he would use it to prepare for the Test series.

Kohli & Co will play a five-match Test series against the Joe Root-led side after the white ball series. They will be desperate to do well after a horrific time in 2014, the last time they toured the country.

Rahane, meanwhile, received tons of wishes on his social media since the clock ticked 12 o’ clock. However, among those, the one that stands out, was from her wife, Radhika Rahane. She took to Instagram to express her wishes for his prince charming.

She wished Rahane for stepping onto a new decade and longed for all the good things in life.

“Happy happy birthday handsome Here’s to the 3rd decade of your life. I wish nothing but the best for you,” Radhika wrote on Instagram.
