Young spinner from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan pleased to see former Australi skipper, Steven Smith, who has been out for three months, back to the cricket field as he took guard for the Toronto Nationals in the ongoing maiden edition of the Canada Global T20 League.

Meanwhile, Smith went on a hibernation mode in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal. Furthermore, Cricket Australia (CA) handed the disgraced trio with significant bans.  However, after three months he came back with a bang helping his team with a narrow win.

Although he admitted to being nervous, he recovered quickly and looked classical as before. Chasing a massive target of 228 runs, Toronto lost their first wicket early. However, it was Smith, who came to bat at one drop, steadied the ship with his terrific shot-making abilities.

The prolific run-scorer Smth pierced the gaps with ease after settling his nerves down. He took the attack to a potent Vancouver Knights bowling attack comprising of Andre Russell, Tim Southee to name a few. He reached to his fifty with a cheeky boundary.

However, he departed shortly after reaching his half-century scoring 61 runs off 41 balls.

Rashid, who was keeping a close eye on the game took to micro-blogging website Twitter to admit his pleasure to see Smith bat.

Furthermore, he took a picture from the television screen to let his emotions out.

Pleased to see him back to the game and played classical inning well Played @stevesmith49 mate,” Rashid wrote.

However, it was Anton Devcich, who stole the show with an unbeaten 92 to see his team home. He struck 10 fours and six sixes from just 44 balls – to overhaul the staggering target with four balls to spare.
