IPL 2020: Ravi Bishnoi Admits Feeling More Excited Than Nervous On Debut

Kings XI Punjab might have suffered a heartbreaking loss in their first match against Delhi Capitals on Sunday; however, Ravi Bishnoi was unearthed in the process. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was amongst the youngsters to watch out for in IPL 2020. After debuting and bowling a miserly spell, he admitted being more excited than nervous ahead of the game.

Ravi Bishnoi finished with a spell of 4-0-22-1, which is excellent for a debut bowler. He took the wicket of big-hitting Rishabh Pant, who was aiming to cut loose by the time Bishnoi came for his third over and the 14th of the innings. Pant took a boundary off the second last delivery; however, the teenage leggie did not lose heart and got the southpaw in the very next ball. Across four overs, the youngster gave away only two boundaries.
“I was a bit nervous in the beginning, but it was more excitement than nervousness for me to make my debut. I just wanted to do well and help my team win,” Bishnoi stated as quoted by ANI news.
Ravi Bishnoi explained how he bowled to Rishabh Pant:

Bishnoi added that while bowling to Rishabh Pant, he did not stick to any plan or strategy. He merely did the basics and nothing out of the box. Kings XI Punjab will face the Royal Challengers Bangalore on the 24th in Dubai while Delhi Capitals will lock horns with the Chennai Super Kings the very next day.
“Bowling against Pant, there was no set plan or strategy in place, I just kept sticking to the basics, didn’t try another out of the box. Just kept bowling how I normally would,” he added.
