India and Pakistan might have some heated on-field battles; however, the respect for each other country’s players is immense. On this occasion, it was Ravichandran Ashwin heaping praise on Pakistan captain Babar Azam for his class and prolific run-making. Ravichandran Ashwin hosted Inzamam-Ul-Haq on his Youtube channel as both cricketers could not stop appreciating Babar Azam.

Babar Azam has had a meteoric rise to become one of the top-notch batsmen in the world. The 25-year old is ranked in top ten for all the formats, averaging almost 50 in Tests, ODIs, and T20 internationals and aggregating over 6000 runs. Recently, the Pakistan Cricket Board handed over the leadership role in all the versions of the game and would hope that he produces the desired results for the team along with himself.

Ravichandran Ashwin labelled Babar Azam as a million-dollar role, having piled on a truckload of runs, and is a treat to the eyes. The 34-year old, in turn, asked Inzamam-Ul-Haq’s views on the same.

“Babar Azam looks like a million dollar player. He has scored a hundred in Australia. It is so good to see him bat so well. He is a treat for the eyes. What do you think about Babar Azam?” Ashwin stated.

The former Pakistan captain underlined that Babar Azam is an immensely great batsman and needs to perform even better, given his talent. Inzamam elaborated that since it’s only been five years that the right-handed batsman began playing internationals, he is yet to clock the peak. According to Inzamam, a batsman reaches his peak after playing for seven or eight years.

He is simply a great player. The kind of talent he has, he needs to perform even better. He has only played international cricket for five years. A batsman reaches his peak after playing international cricket for seven or eight years, so Babar is yet to reach his peak and he will do even better in coming years,” Inzamam said.
