India ace Ravichandran Ashwin has taken a hilarious dig at David Warner after Government of India announced that it would ban 59 Chinese apps including Tik Tok due to privacy issues.

The Government has decided to disallow the usage of these apps both in mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices. A government press release announcing the ban stated:

“The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”.

It also stated that the move to ban these Chinese apps move will “safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users”. This decision is a targeted move to ensure safety and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace, it said. There have been a widespread call to boycott Chinese products in the wake of the deadly clash that took place in Galwan Valley earlier this month.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s hilarious tweet for David Warner:

Moments after the government announced the decision, Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to taunt David Warner. The Australia superstar has gained huge popularity on the social media platform thanks to his exploit. He joined the video sharing platform during the lockdown and became an instant hit.

Several videos of him dancing with his daughters and wife on Hindi and Telugu songs became viral. Not surprisingly, he has already garnered more than 4 million follower on TikTok and most of his followers are from India.

However, his popularity on the video sharing platform is going to be affected with the Indian government’s latest decision and Ravichandran Ashwin did not waste any time in adding salt to his wounds. The off-spinner took to Twitter to taunt Warner. He tagged the left-handed batsman in his tweet while writing:

“Appo Anwar?” which is a dialogue from superstar actor Rajnikant’s 1995 film “Baashha”. The tweet from Ravichandran Ashwin roughly translates to: “So, what’s David Warner going to do now?”
