India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has launched a scathing attack at Sanjay Manjrekar after the latter’s controversial comments. Time and again, Manjrekar hogs the limelight for all the wrong reasons. The former India batsman has a knack of coming up with controversial comment every now and then. One of those comments was about Ravindra Jadeja.

In the wake of defeat to England at the World Cup, India assistant coach Sanjay Bangar had said Ravindra Jadeja can play against Bangladesh. Till that point, the allrounder was yet to play any match in the ongoing tournament. In fact, he is yet to play any match so far. However, Manjrekar had caused a stir with his comment on Jadeja.

The ex cricketer-turned commentator had controversially said that he is not too keen to see a “bits and pieces” player in the playing XI.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying by IANS.

Miffed with Manjrekar’s comments, Ravindra Jadeja did not hold back and gave it back to him. The allrounder took to Twitter to remind Manjrekar of his cricket career. Blasting Manjrekar, Jadeja asked his compatriot to respect others, writing:

Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea.@sanjaymanjrekar

Jadeja remains one of India’s important members across the formats. He has proved his mettle in both Tests and limited-overs cricket but has fallen down the pecking order in recent times.  Talking about the World Cup campaign, India are already through to the semifinals.
