Rajasthan Royals finished respectably against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 15th match of IPL 2020 in Abu Dhabi. After being three down in less than six overs, Rajasthan Royals finished with 155 in 20 overs, thanks to the acceleration from the likes of Mahipal Lomror, Riyan Parag, Jofra Archer, and Rahul Tewatia. However, there was a passage of play when there occurred a comedy of errors.
During the 19th over of the innings, left-arm seamer Isuru Udana delivered a slow yorker that struck Jofra Archer on the pads and rested. Archer did not run; however, Rahul Tewatia came sprinting along at the other end. The bowler responded late in throwing the ball to the non-striker’s end. Udana did throw the ball to Virat Kohli, who came in running from cover.
Meanwhile, Mahipal Lomror top-scored for Rajasthan Royals with 47 after Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Robin Uthappa could not trouble the scores by much. It was Jofra Archer and Rahul Tewatia, whose partnership of 40 from 20 deliveries was the bedrock in reaching a respectable 155. Hence, they would arguably need the best bowling performance to defend a below-par total against a much-vaunted RCB’s batting line-up.
