Royal Challengers Bangalore stand-in skipper Virat Kohli had an unlucky dismissal in the ongoing match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as the superstar was dismissed balls after notching up his fifty, leaving RCB in a tough position in the contest against their opponents.
In the face of losing three wickets during the powerplay, the stand-in captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli, remained composed. However, Kohli’s innings was cut short on 54 runs by a stunning catch taken by Venkatesh Iyer off Andre Russell’s delivery. This dismissal occurred soon after Mahipal Lomror was sent back to the pavilion in the 12th over.

Venkatesh Iyer who was positioned on the rope was in a perfect position as he moved down to his left to complete a great catch, however, the ball temporarily skid out of his hands but the fielder managed to keep a hold on the ball bringing an end to Virat Kohli’s innings.

Trying to chase the target on the board, RCB had a rough start with the team losing their dependable duo of Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell early within the power play. Virat Kohli tried his best to keep the innings alive as he single-handily dragged the game to the middle overs before falling prey to Venkatesh Iyer’s catch.
Earlier in the day, Kolkata Knight Riders were given the opportunity to bat first and they successfully scored 200 runs while losing 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Rinku Singh and David Weise contributed significantly to the team’s total score by delivering some powerful shots towards the end of the innings.
