Ricky Ponting Names The Bowlers He Did Not Like Facing
Former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting recently made his debut on Twitter and he is already becoming a fan favourite on the social media platform. And to make sure that he gets more close to the fans, the legendary batsman recently conducted a question-answer session on Twitter. As soon as Ricky Ponting told the fans about the session, he was bombarded with questions of all kinds.
One of the questions was to name the bowlers he least like facing. Ricky Ponting is one of the greatest batsmen to have graced the game. He retired from the game as the second highest run-scorer in Tests, having scored a staggering 13,378 runs in 168 Tests. In ODIs, he scored 13,704 runs and won three World Cups, two as captain.
No surprises then that there were not many bowlers who managed to dominate Ponting. However, there were some who managed to do that and Ricky Ponting recently revealed their names. The legendary batsman revealed that he did not like facing former Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram and former West Indies pacer Curtly Ambrose. He also pointed out India spinner Harbhajan Singh’s name as he wrote:
“Wasim Akram and Curtly Ambrose were easily the best fast bowlers I’ve ever faced. Shoaib Akhtar clearly the quickest but Harbhajan Singh got me out more than anybody”
