Team India opener Rohit Sharma stormed into the top ten of the latest ICC Test Rankings for batsmen after a fantastic tour of South Africa. He played a significant role with the bat as the host routed South Africa 3-0 in the three-match Test series.

The Mumbai opener grabbed his opportunity with both hands in the ongoing Test series against South Africa. The cricketer, who came into the series amidst a lot of speculations, registered his third century in fourth innings in the series.

After scores of 176 and 127 in the first Test, Rohit Sharma had a poor outing in Pune getting out cheaply. But he bounced back and scored a double century in the third Test when the team needed the most. He amassed 529 runs in the series which helped him make huge strides from 44th place before the series.

Eventually, Rohit finished the series in the 10th spot of the ICC Rankings. Notably, he has been in the top 10 in white-ball formats as well several times. As a result, Rohit Sharma became the third Indian cricketer to achieve the feat of being in the top 10 of the ICC Rankings across formats.

Previously, India skipper Virat Kohli and former opening batsman Gautam Gambhir also scaled the feat. Rohit will hope to keep up the good work as India prepare to take on Bangladesh in three T20Is followed by two Test matches.
