Rohit Sharma Terms CSK As Just Another Opponent Ahead Of The Marquee Clash

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma will be amongst the star-studded players in action when they take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first match of IPL 2020. Rohit Sharma, who is the most successful captain, has guided Mumbai Indians to four titles and three of those have come by beating Chennai. However, he terms the yellow army as just another opposition.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are two of the most successful teams in IPL, sharing seven IPL trophies between them. Their feud dates back to 2010 IPL final when MS Dhoni’s men outclassed Mumbai to lift their first trophy. Mumbai bounced back under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy to beat CSK thrice to claim three titles and defeating Rising Pune Supergiants once. Mumbai Indians have won 17 out of the 28 games between the two teams.

Rohit Sharma underlined that playing CSK is always fun and that they enjoy the battle. However, the 33-year old asserted when they play the game, it is only another opposition and it is the way the side plans to move forward.

Playing against CSK is always fun, we enjoy that battle. But when we play the game it is just another opposition for us and that is how we want to move forward,” the opening batsman said as quoted by News18.

Ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya stated that it is a game that most people look forward to and are amongst the franchises most loved by the fans. Pandya hopes to bring their A-game against MS Dhoni’s men in a high-voltage clash.

It has become a game which people look forward to. It is one of the two franchises that are most loved by the fans and that is how it becomes special. I do not know when we all will get our A-game out when we are playing against CSK and I wish we always do that,” the 26-year old mentioned.
