Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the IPL 2020 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday due to hamstring injury in his left leg, according to an official statement. West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard who has played over 150 matches for Mumbai Indians will replace him as the captain.
Pollard opted to bowl after winning the toss against CSK. Defending champions Mumbai Indians already have their one foot in the playoffs. However, the Rohit Sharma injury is a primary concern for the side. Wicket-keeper batsman Saurabh Tiwary has replaced Rohit Sharma in the XI against CSK.

“We are gonna bowl first. Don’t expect the wicket to change much and hopefully there’s some dew. We want to qualify to the playoffs first and we still have to come out and play good cricket. We have spoken about areas we need it improve and we want to execute them in the middle tonight.
“Rohit is struggling with his left hamstring and hopefully he will be fit soon and take the captaincy. Only change we have is Saurabh Tiwary comes in for Rohit,” Kieron Pollard said after winning the toss.
Mumbai Indians statement on Rohit Sharma

“Rohit has been advised rest for the match against CSK. Kieron Pollard will lead the team tonight,” it added.
Mumbai Indians have been the most successful team in IPL history. They have clinched the IPL title four times under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. CSK are the second most successful team with three titles to their name.
