Indian limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma celebrated his 31st birthday on 29th April (Thursday) and the whole cricketing fraternity took to their respective Twitter handles to wish the Hitman of India.

An elegant batter has been in a sensational batsman for India, especially in the limited-overs format.

Ever since being promoted as an opener in One-day International cricket, Rohit has scored heaps of runs. He is the only player in the history of the game to register three ODI double hundreds. None has scored even two.

On the occasion of his birthday, “The Nawab of Najafgarh” Virender Sehwag wished him in his own unique style.

Taking to his twitter handle wrote, “With @ImRO45, talent ki tanki is always full. He is my favourite batsman to watch and I really love watching him bat. May you continue to prosper and shine and keep the talent alive always. #HappyBirthdayRohit”.

In reply, Rohit said that only Sehwag can pull of things like this.

“Only u can pull things of (off) like that. Thank you.”

Rohit is currently captaining his franchise Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai is going through a lean patch in the tournament so far. They are at the bottom of the points table with just a couple of wins under their belt from eight encounters.

Rohit’s form has also been a matter of concern for Mumbai. He played match-winning innings of 56 of just 33 deliveries against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

However, he has failed to inspire the team on a consistent basis which has been the reason behind their downfall. He was dismissed for a golden duck in an encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday (May 1).

Mumbai have to pull their socks up and start winning everything from here on. Any more hiccups will knock them out of the tournament.

So better late than never, Mumbai should still believe in their abilities and try to come out all guns blazing in the remaining matches under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
