Rohit Sharma's Ex-Girlfriend Attacks Him After He Scored His Third ODI Double Ton & Dedicated It To His Wife

In a format where only four other batsmen have managed to breach the 200-run mark, the fact that Rohit Sharma has scored as many as three double centuries speaks volumes of the achievement. Since Sachin Tendulkar scored the first-ever double century in the One-Day Internationals in 2010, only six such instances have been witnessed so far with Rohit Sharma being the scorer on three occasions.

The India opener scored his latest ODI double ton in the second match of the just-concluded three-match series against Sri Lanka, lighting up Mohali with an unbeaten knock of 208 which was studded with 13 fours and 12 sixes. But while the 30-year old has been lavished with praise from several quarters, it seems not everyone is impressed with his monumental knock. One of those exceptions is none other than his ex-girlfriend Sofia Hayat.

The British model, while insisting that she was happy to see her ex-boyfriend gaining success, slammed the gender bias, citing the difference of treatment Rohit and swimmer Kanchanmala Pande, who became the first Indian to clinch a gold medal at the World Para-Swimming Championship earlier this month.

“I am happy that Rohit is gaining success. But wondering how people are discriminating things on gender. Rohit should understand it is just a ‘bat-ball’ game. Just that he is a man, so people are clapping,” she said.

“No one went this crazy when Kanchanmala (Pande) won the Olympics with her disability. That was something more encouraging and should have been more praised as per my opinion. I would be celebrating something better or social cause, not on this for sure,” she added.

Another beautiful moment that was witnessed during Rohit’s knock was when he kissed his ring finger and dedicated his knock to his wife Ritika Sajdeh. The couple was celebrating its second wedding anniversary on the match-day and Ritika became all emotional when her husband crossed the 200-run mark.

Talking about Rohit’s gesture towards his wife, Sofia claimed: “He (Rohit) has this old habit to credit his partner. When I was in his life, I used to be credited but I use to cry only when he played bad. I’m happy that Rohit has finally found someone who is trying to make him move on from me.”

Meanwhile, in 2015 Sofia had stated that she dated the India batsman in a scathing tweet.
