Royal Challengers Bangalore may not have won an Indian Premier League title in their 12-year history but they still remain one of the most followed and loved franchises in the tournament history. Blessed with outrageous talents like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Kevin Pietersen, KL Rahul, the Royal Challengers Bangalore has flattered to deceive over the years.
The Virat Kohli-led Bangalore based franchise last reached the playoffs of an Indian Premier League season in 2016 where they came ever-so-close to win their maiden title but were eventually denied by David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad. Since then, it has been a downhill ride for the star-studded franchise as they have finished with the wooden spoon in two of the past three seasons.
Kohli and co may not have won any title in the actual competition but they finally broke their duck in the virtual space. With the 13th edition of the cash-rich league getting postponed for an indefinite period of time due to the novel pandemic that is the coronavirus, Royal Challengers Bangalore social media handle had conducted an Indian Poll League on Twitter where the Kohli-led franchise played all of its games in virtual space. And, the winner was decided on the basis of fan votes.
All the 55 games including the Qualifiers, Eliminator, and finals were decided on the basis of fans votes.

RCB was crowned Indian Poll League after they pipped Sunrisers Hyderbad in the finals thanks to the 85% of votes garnered by them through their fans and their Twitter handle took to the micro-blogging website to thank all the fans for their support.
“A big thank you to everyone who made RCB the champions of the #IndianPollLeague by voting consistently, every day for the last 55 days. In the final, #RCB beat #SRH with an incredible 85% of the votes!” RCB Twitter handle wrote.
But their celebrations were cut-short when Chennai Super Kings decided to take a hilarious dig at their achievement. Replying to RCB’s tweet, CSK’s social media handle proceeded to alter their tagline Ee Sala cup named [this year, the cup is ours] to ‘Ee Sala cup umade’ [this year, the cup is yours].
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings have had a plethora of heart-pumping battles against each other in the past where the MS Dhoni-led outfit clearly holds the edge after having notched up 16 wins in 25 head-to-head encounters.
