India has changed gear, as they look forward to the three-match T20 series starting today.

However, the men in blues are high on confidence after scripting history on Indian soil. However, all eyes will be on comeback man Suresh Raina.

Raina has made a comeback in the international circuit after a gap of almost a year. He last played a T20I series against England.

After return, Raina feels he is wearing Indian jersey for the first time

Elated to come back:

Raina worked hard to come back into the national team. Meanwhile, he looked elated and termed his return an emotional one.

I have worked really hard for the last two years. Coming back into the team again feels like I am wearing the Indian jersey for the first time. I am very happy about it. Last eight months I have worked really hard, played each and every game in domestic cricket. Whenever you represent your country, there is a desire to perform well. I am very blessed to represent my country. I want to go out there and express myself. Looking forward to playing tomorrow,” Raina told BCCI.

Raina’s come back:

Raina’s exclusion left everybody surprised though scoring runs. However, he made headlines failing to clear the yo-yo test, made mandatory to be available for selection. Meanwhile, later he cleared the test in December.

Raina came from a good show in the domestic T20 tournament. He scored 314 runs in nine matches for Uttar Pradesh including a hundred and two fifties. However, this remains the acid test for him for a probable India spot in future.

Applauded Kohli on ODI series win:

The 31-year-old Raina hailed Virat Kohli on his performance and the way he guided the team to victory in the ODI series. The southpaw further applauded Kohli’s unbelievable energy on the field and a brilliant atmosphere in the dressing room.

I want to congratulate Virat because first time winning a series in abroad is important. The way we played here is outstanding. Virat, Rohit, and Shikhar batted really well alongside with Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar, Kuldeep, and Chahal. Everyone in the team looks so hungry. I was watching all the games. There was a lot of energy on the field which was unbelievable.  Virat has shown immense faith in his boys,” Raina added.

With the World Cup looming ahead, Raina will look to make a strong case for himself. With Indian team management still doing permutations and combinations in the middle-order, Raina will be eying the No four spot.
