It doesn’t matter where you are in the world if a group of cricket enthusiasts speak about the fielding section in the game, their first name would be, Jonty Rhodes.

The Protean has been the stalwart figure in international cricket and will always be remembered for his heroics inside the 30-yard circle. Meanwhile, he turns 49-year-old to the world on July 27th.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar wishes Jonty Rhodes via his official Twitter panel. He wrote Rhodes has redefined the fielding and kept fielding standard at the top of the cliff.

Sachin furtherly felt the standards would be tough to match by the contemporary cricketers. However, he concluded his wish by greeting his long-time friend on his birthday.

His tweet read ”Jonty Rhodes you not only redefined fielding in cricket but also set standards that are hard to match even today! Have a happy birthday, my friend.”

As Sachin Tendulkar said, the class and standards set by Jonty Rhodes are tough for the young generation to match. The likes of Jadeja, Maxwell, Guptill may come close but Rhodes sat at the pinnacle.

Sachin-Jonty Rhodes camaraderie in Mumbai Indians’ setup:

Both the legendary figures of the game came under the same dugout when Mumbai Indians signed their services in IPL. Jonty has worked as a fielding coach while Sachin has been the icon for them.

They both shared a great space in the Mumbai Indians and was always seen giving mutual respect. However, Rhodes parted his ways with the camp after winning the trophy in IPL 2017.
