Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw is in thick of things for being out-of-form. He was dropped from the side as Ajinkya Rahane replacement. But after being benched for a few matches he is back in the Delhi Capitals set-up but has again failed to capitalize on his opportunity.

Shaw has seemingly tried to overdo things. He is trying to overhit the balls and not trying to use his natural ability. His footwork has also been questionable. At this situation former India cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has shared an important bit of advice for the struggling Prithvi Shaw.

Dear Prithvi Shaw, try and not attempt impossible shots: Sanjay Manjrekar

Manjrekar advised Shaw to keep things simple by not trying to attempt too many impossible shots. He also advised the youngster to keep the fearless Virender Sehwag as his role model and look at how he only stuck shots that he had ability or confidence to pull off.

“Dear Prithvi Shaw, try & not attempt impossible shots, simply because they are impossible to pull off. Keep Virender Sehwag as your role model, see how he only stuck to shots he had the ability/confidence to pull off,” Sanjay Manjrekar tweeted.

Coming from Mumbai, opener Shaw, hogged the limelight early in his career. He was the captain of his school team and the Mumbai U-16 team. Shaw achieved the feat of scoring the most runs in an organised tournament since 1901 by scoring 564 runs in a Harris Shield elite division match.

Prithvi Shaw left an early mark in his Test career by scoring a century on his debut, making him the second-youngest Indian to achieve the feat only behind his mentor Sachin Tendulkar. It helped him become youngest Indian teenager to score 50+ runs only after Abbas Ali Baig. He is now an integral part of the young Delhi Capitals side.
