After Sreesanth and Simon Taufel, Sanjay Manjrekar has lent support to the under-fire duo, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. The India National Cricket Team stars are currently serving a provisional suspension, imposed on them by the Supreme Court-appointed CoA. On Koffee with Karan, where both KL and Hardik were the guests, they split too many beans, causing trouble for them. Though KL is likely to escape any of the punishments, Hardik remains in hot waters for his sexist remarks. However, Sanjay has come out in support of them.

Let’s be mature – Sanjay snubs critics

As the social media tear apart KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, Sanjay Manjrekar in one of his replies to a Twitter handle said; they were immature, but the outside world could act maturely.

Problem mounts for the star duo

As the CoA and the BCCI have come in terms to suspend the pair, they both have also agreed upon conducting an investigation into the matter. Though KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya tendered an unconditional apology on Monday, the office bearers look certain on imposing a punishment.

The BCCI had earlier issued two show cause notice to the players, asking them to revert in 15 days. The CoA led by Vinod Rai has further approached the legal advisories on how to conduct an inquiry. Meanwhile, chairman Rai says the probe needs to be done fast by appointing an ad-hoc ombudsman. Diana Edulji, the other member, feels the Supreme Court should instead appoint an independent ombudsman. Thus, the investigation in the matter has been delayed due to the divergent views of the members.

Hardik, KL out of cricket scene for now

As they got released from the India squad for Australia and New Zealand’s limited-overs series, their careers have surely been put in some jeopardy. However, all-rounder Vijay Shankar and youngster Shubman Gill have been added as their replacements to the team-sheet.

I am more than just a cricket lover. I have been breathing this game since I was three, and now I am making a living out of it. Also, FC Barcelona happens to be my second love, and evidently, I prefer Lionel Messi over Ronaldo.
