Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been an integral part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. He has performed in the IPL in India and has also weaved his magic in UAE. Former New Zealand batsman Scott Styris, a part of the official broadcasters panel, has decoded the reason behind Yuzvendra Chahal’s success.

Chahal has bowled some match-winning spell in the IPL 2020. He will be a key in the slow pitches in UAE which continue to wear out. RCB have entered the IPL 2020 playoffs and his performance can prove out to be crucial for the franchise to go on and lift their maiden title in the lucrative tournament.

Chahal has already picked up 20 wickets in the IPL 2020 thus far and in race for the most wicket-taker this season. Styris said that Chahal is focusing and bowling on the full length and good length area more often in UAE. He also mentioned that the speed of his delivery is helping his success.

“Let’s take a look first and foremost at where Chahal is picking up his wickets in 2020 and the lengths. There’s a lot of them, 12 of them on the fuller side, only five at good length, but let’s look back then, to 2019, where he was so good for RCB that completely flips over as 15 on a good length and only three with the fuller,” Styris said while speaking on Star Sports show Select Dugout.

“Now, that says to me, a couple of things, that fuller length here, in the UAE is the length to bowl. So, because there are different conditions in UAE and India of course and he is balling fuller and therefore, what about the speed, because the speed also becomes crucial on where you are,” he added.

RCB has the record of reaching three finals. RCB entered the final match last time in 2016 but since then they have been at the bottom of the table. Moreover, in 2019, the franchise  finished last with just 5 wins from 14 matches.
