During his tenure in the Global T20 League, Afridi met with Bollywood star, Salman Khan. He said he discussed with Salman regarding the better of political ties between the two nations.
Both agreed, the celebrities from both sides should come together and give their best for the resumption of bilateral ties between the arch-rivals.
“We were in agreement that celebrities should play their role towards the betterment of bilateral ties by speaking positively in the media,” Afridi was quoted as saying by Toronto Daily Times.
“My aim of posting pictures with him (Salman Khan) on social media was the same,” he said.
Afridi was unable to weave his magic with the bat during the tournament in Canada. He scored 45 runs and bagged just three wickets. Talking about the league, Afridi said he is doing little things which will help in promoting cricket in Canada.
“The organisers want to stage league matches in various cities of Canada and the USA. I am doing my bit in the game’s promotion and expansion in the region. It’s a great learning curve for local players,” said the former Pakistan skipper.
