Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi announced the birth of his fifth child on Friday. Afridi, who is a father of four daughters, was happy to welcome a fifth girl child in the family. On Friday, he took to Twitter to announce that he has been blessed with another daughter and seemed quite happy on the occasion.
Recently, Afridi was in the news as he advocated a bilateral series between India and Pakistan.
Considering the political tensions between the two nations, it was quite a bold statement from the former all-rounder. He said that if India and Pakistan play bilateral cricket, it will be bigger than the Ashes. He also went on to say that he has received a lot of love from India and Indian cricketers too have received the same love from Pakistan.
Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also supported Afridi’s claims.

Afridi is married to his maternal cousin Nadia Afridi and the names of their elder four daughters are Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa and Asmara.

Although Afridi might seem ecstatic over the birth of a fifth girl child, he is not a very genuine supporter of women rights. He blew up a controversy last year with the comments he made about her daughters playing outdoor sports.
Afridi had revealed that he had disallowed his daughters from playing cricket or any other sport due to ‘social and religious reasons’.
