Shahid Afridi Thanks Yuvraj Singh For His Efforts In Supporting SAF

In times of health crisis as currently experienced by almost all the nations, sportspeople from respective countries have stepped up. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has been actively serving the citizens of Pakistan by distributing ration to the needy people. Indian counterparts Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh lauded the Pakistan veteran’s efforts to assist for which Afridi thanked them via his official Twitter account.

The monetary cost to battle the Coronavirus crisis has been mounting day by day. The likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Mithali Raj, and Poonam Yadav have come up with a significant contribution, to battle the pandemic. And while Harbhajan and Yuvraj also have done their bit, their endorsing of Afridi’s motive hasn’t gone down well with the Indian fans.

The retired Pakistan all-rounder has been helping the citizens of Pakistan massively through his Shahid Afridi Foundation. His former colleagues in Shoaib Malik and Fakhar Zaman have also supported his efforts in combating the deadly disease, which has infected over 1,800 people in Pakistan.

The reason for the Indian fans to come down hard at Yuvraj and Harbhajan is because Afridi’s remarks about India in his later tweet, which was controversial. Considering the strained relations between the two nations since the ‘sands of time’, fans grew furious over the two legendary cricketers supporting Afridi’s cause.

Meanwhile, the star Pakistan all-rounder didn’t fail to thank Yuvraj over Twitter after he put a message to support his foundation and tagging Harbhajan Singh.

In reply to Yuvi’s tweet “These are testing times, it’s time to lookout for each other specially the ones who are lesser fortunate. Let’s do our bit, I am supporting @SAfridiOfficial & @SAFoundationN in this noble initiative of covid19. Pls, donate.”

The 40-year old expressed his gratitude by saying that the duo is massive pillars of support and that when it comes to humanity, borders don’t matter. He further extended his best wishes to the pair for their endeavours for their respective countries.
