Bangladesh was brought to the ground by India defeating them by eight wickets in the second T20I in Rajkot. With the series tied at 1-1, fast bowler Shaiful Islam is confident to turn things around in the next game in the final match of the series.

The Bangla Tigers made a confident starting adding 70 runs from the first seven overs after put to bat first. However, India made a stunning comeback to restrict them for 153 runs with Yuzvendra Chahal picking two wickets while Deepak Chahar, Washington Sundar, and Khaleel Ahmed returned with one each.

But Rohit Sharma stood tall playing a match-winning knock of 85 from 43 balls to chase down the target. He enjoyed a 118-run opening partnership with Shikhar Dhawan, who contributed 31 in a partnership that was dominated by Rohit.

Despite a thumping loss, Bangladesh cricketers are upbeat to come back and win the series 2-1. Shaiful Islam is hopeful that they can turn the tide in the final game. He feels if they can rectify the mistakes they committed in the last game, Bangladesh will come out better in the next match.

“Of course we still have the opportunity, if we play good cricket and if we produce the same performance as the first match. And there were some small mistakes in this second match, if we don’t make those mistakes in the next match, of course, we could win the series. Hopefully, we will turn around in the next match,” Shafiul said.

India and Bangladesh will face each other in the third and final T20I of the series in Nagpur on November 10 (Sunday).
