Shakib Al Hasan Pens Down Emotional Letter to his Fans After Undergoing Surgery

Bangladesh all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the final of the Asia Cup 2018 due to an injury in his left little finger. The situation got worse during the previous match against Pakistan, and he had to leave the field and couldn’t even hold the grip of his bat. The all-rounder needed immediate surgery and underwent one at Apollo Hospitals.
Ahead of the start of Asia Cup 2018, Shakib had stated he was only 30% fit. Back then, the head coach had said Shakib should be much better than what he said to be. However, given the current situation, it was unjust on Shakib, as he was almost forced to play the Asia Cup 2018 despite serious injury.

There is no doubt about the fact that Shakib Al Hasan is one of the finest players Bangladesh has ever produced. He has been a champion player for Bangladesh in all three departments of the game.
However, Shakib has now aggravated the injury. Meanwhile, the left-handed batsman in an emotional note to his fans wrote he survived a huge scare quite narrowly, and if the injury got aggravated more, he would have faced serious problems which would have brought down curtains to his illustrious career.
In his mother tongue, Bengali SHakib took to his Instagram handle and wrote,
“হাতের ব্যাথায় যখন দল ছেড়ে দেশে ফিরছি তখনও বুঝতে পারিনি এত খারাপ পরিস্থিতির সম্মুখিন হতে হবে।
দেশে আসার পর প্রচন্ড ব্যাথা অনুভব ও হাত অস্বাভাবিক রকম ফুলে যাওয়ায় দ্রুত হসপিটালে এডমিট হয়ে একটি সার্জারী করাতে হয়েছে। আঙ্গুলের ভেতর ইনফেকশনের ফলে ৬০-৭০ সে: মি: পুঁজ বের করতে হয়েছে। আপনাদের দোয়াই খুব অল্পের জন্য বড় ধরণের বিপদ থেকে এই যাত্রায় রক্ষা পেয়েছি তবে দ্রুতই আরও একটি সার্জারী করাতে হবে। আপনাদের সকলের দোয়া প্রার্থনা করছি। আপনাদের দোয়া ও ভালবাসায় দ্রুত সুস্থ হয়ে বাংলাদেশ দলের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করতে পারি। ধন্যবাদ..
Shakib Al Hasan pens down an emotional letter
“(After leaving the team, when I was going back home due to the pain in hand, I couldn’t understand that I have to go through such a situation. After coming back to the country, as I felt the pain more. I had to immediately admit to the hospital and do surgery. 50-60mg pus was extracted from my hand. Due to everyone’s prayers, I could save myself from a great danger. But I have to do another surgery quickly. I am asking everyone to pray for me. With your blessings and love, I will be able to recover quickly and represent Bangladesh. Thank you.)
“The injured hand got infected and there was no time to go anywhere else. I had to undergo this small surgery within two or three hours upon my return and there was no time to go anywhere else,” Shakib was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
Shakib survived with a minor scare
“There was pus, and the surgery was done to get the pus out. If the pus was not extracted within the next few hours, maybe my hand would have been completely spoiled. Right now there was no visa for Singapore and Thailand that I would be able to go so I underwent the surgery here.
“60-70 mg of pus were extracted, and the doctor was mad, saying “how can someone play cricket with this hand, didn’t know any work was possible to let alone cricket,” Shakib informed. Hence, it was a big task for Shakib to even play in the Asia Cup 2018.
“So this is my condition right now. I am in Apollo right now, and my departure date will be pushed back since my anti biotic course isn’t complete yet and it would take at least three days,” he concluded.
