Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting president CK Khanna said that they would wait for Anti-Corruption Unit’s decision before taking a call on Mohammad Shami.

Recently, Supreme Court appointed CoA wrote to the BCCI’s ACU head to investigate the charges levelled against Shami. Further, CoA head Vinod Rai has given a seven-day deadline to ACU to submit their reports.

We will wait for ACU’s report:

BCCI acting president, CK Khanna admitted that they are hoping to get the reports by this week.

We will wait for the report of ACU on Mohammed Shami before deciding anything. We are expecting that the report will come within a week,” Khanna said.

The CoA direction came after Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan brought charges of match-fixing fixing against him.

Last week, Hasin Jahan, Shami’s wife, has charged him with domestic violence and extra-marital affairs. In a series of claims made by her last week, Jahan claimed Shami has fixed matches. She also filed a written complaint against Shami.

Kolkata Police has booked Shami under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the IPC; including Section 498A, which deals with cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives, Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

However, Shami has denied all the allegation and asked for a thorough investigation.
