The former cricketer of Australia, who is dubbed as an all-time legendary player, Shane Warne named his India’s best XI, whom he played against. The leg-spinner nominated his greatest Indian XI during an Instagram live session and picked only the players he played against in his career. Surprisingly, he left out VVS Laxman and named Sourav Ganguly as the skipper of his side.
Rahul Dravid became a friend: Shane Warne
Warne named the swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag as the opener of the team alongside the hard-hitting Navjot Singh Sidhu. The duo will open the innings while the all-time greatest of India Rahul Dravid will follow them at number three. Speaking of Rahul Dravid, Shane Warne recollected the knock he played for Hampshire against Kent.

“Dravid became a friend over the years, I got to know him during a stint with Rajasthan Royals, he made plenty of hundreds against us. One of the best knocks was when Hampshire was playing against Kent and Rahul made a terrific hundred,” he added.
I went for Sourav Ganguly over VVS Laxman:
The leading run-scorer in the world cricket Sachin Tendulkar is placed at fourth in the lineup while Mohammed Azharuddin will bat at number 5. The number six position was the toughest for Shane Warne to pick; with Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman fighting for the spot. However, to have a skipper, Warne went with Sourav Ganguly.

“Have said so much about Sachin, there is nothing more to say. He was just a great player, he is number 4,” leggie said. “I went for Ganguly because I wanted him to be the captain of my side, that is why VVS Laxman missed out,” he added.
Coming to the all-rounder category, he went with the all-time legendary icon Kapil Dev and picked the duo of his close mates Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble. Nayan Mongia is the wicket-keeper while Javagal Srinath will bowl the new ball.
