Shardul Thakur Replaces Injured Prasidh Krishna In India A Squad

India all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been named as the replacement of Prasidh Krishna in the India A squad for the ongoing four-day match series against New Zealand A. the series is currently on in Bengaluru with the first match being played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.
As per Cricbuzz reports, Prasidh Krishna suffered from back spasms and did not feature in the first four-day Test that started on Thursday (September 1). His unavailability, known on the eve of the current game, left India A without an experienced pacer.
This led to the Priyank Panchal side going into the match with only four bowlers Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal, Arzan Nagwaswalla and Kuldeep Yadav, with Tilak Varma filling in as the fifth bowler.
Now it has been reported that Shardul Thakur of Mumbai has been added to India A squad as a replacement for Prasidh Krishna and will join the squad soon.

The selectors sent an SOS call to Shardul Thakur who was holidaying in Thailand and asked him to return immediately. The first game between India A and New Zealand A ended in a draw on Sunday. There are two more games in the A series, which will start on September 8 and 15 in Hubli and Bengaluru respectively.
Meanwhile, West Zone selectors met to name a replacement for Shardul Thakur, who was named in the side which will play in the Duleep Trophy which returns to the Indian national cricketing calendar and has chosen Saurashtra bowler Chetan Sakariya.
The 24-year-old left-arm pacer from Rajkot in the Ajinkya Rahane-led West Zone side will take part in the inter-zonal tournament, to be held from September 8 to 25 in Tamil Nadu.
India A squad: Priyank Panchal (Captain), Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Tilak Varma, KS Bharat (wk), Upendra Yadav (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Saurabh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal and Arzan Nagwaswalla.
West Zone Squad: Ajinkya Rahane (C), Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rahul Tripathi, Chirag Jani, Het Patel, Hardik Tamore, Shams Mulani, Tanish Kotian, Atit Seth, Chintan Gaja, Chetan Sakaria, Jaydev Unadkat, and Satyajeet Bachhav.
